All Hail The Yeti
All Hail The Yeti
Lurking in the shadows of your worst nightmare lives a mystery of terror, a mythical beast in pursuit of your soul, run but you will never hide from this inescapable fate that is, YETI.
Bringing the brutality from the backwoods of hell to Hollywood, Connor Garritty (vocals), KJ Duval (guitar), Glendon Crain (drums), and Nick Diltz (bass), bring years of experience to this round table.
Like true pioneers of metal, YETI bleeds the blood of veterans who have molded their experiences from past projects and influences. together they have toured with the likes of staind, chimera, in this moment, 36 crazyfists, god forbid, misery signals, jonathan davis, as I lay daying and soilwork just to name a few. They have played in touring bands such as loser (island), the feds (capitol) new dead radio (mediaskare), godhead (cement shoes), and hollywood undead (a&m, octone). with all of their combined experience, there is no denying the capability of these seasoned professional musicians
A journey of escape from a metaphorical monster through streams of swamp-like guitars, spastic transitions of slow to heavy drumming and horror-filled screams, have given birth to a sound that brutally intertwines Pantera-esque southern metal grooves with hostile doses of grimy hardcore. Tales of such beasts don't live solely in the sounds of YETI, in the track "Deep Creek" lyrics read, "Ten feet tall with eyes of fire burning bright, awful stench like garbage and rotting flesh...listen here a story unfolds tonight, say a prayer now learn a lesson in fright", the concept deriving from vocalist Connor's childhood obsession with the creature. A force to be reckoned with, the live performance of YETI makes you wonder where they've been hiding all of these years.
Lots of fun and no regrets, but nothing compares to the feeling of writing music that comes from everyone involved with the project. As a band we aren't afraid to try everyones ideas in order to reach the best possible outcome...The creative process is just as much fun as the end result!!!" Proving that every end can result in a positive start, YETI is currently in the studio recording an 8-song demo and will be performing throughout Southern California and the Northwest in 2008. Words do no justice, let the beast speak for itself.
Laid In Stone
Laid In Stone
Metal’s newest and hardest; Laid In Stone, was formed in late 2009 in the town of Oxford, Michigan, by Trent Heichel (guitars) and brothers Kyle (bass) and Danny (drums) Cummings. After an intense creative period spent writing and rehearsing original material, the trio recruited their high school friend and local vocalist Chad Rice, and set about taking Laid In Stone to the top echelons of the metal world.
This band - it’s more than fair to say - hit the ground running. With their line-up not yet finalized and a mere two months before embarking on a self-organized and financed three month US tour, they welcomed Kelly Meadows (guitars) to the fold, and shortly thereafter, took to the studio to lay down two independent EPs.
While earning their stripes on the road, showcasing and developing their sound, Laid In Stone drew up plans for what was to become their debut album. Recorded with producer Don Debiase (Beneath The Sky, Forever In Terror, Black Veil Brides), the LP, entitled “The Perception of Power is due for release in Summer 2011.
Laid In Stone possess a unique and innovative approach to songwriting. A precision combination of heavy riffs, pounding bass, and hugely melodic choruses, with punishing vocal delivery and the kind of drums that hit your ears like a ton of bricks. At once forceful, yet totally engaging, expect no less than to be blown away by the band’s forthcoming debut.
Having recently teamed up with Des Moines artist management company, The Inner Light Agency (ILA), Laid In Stone’s commitment, ambition and sheer hunger has never been stronger. With a slew of dates lined up in support of their impending release, these guys are raring to go...and exciting times lie ahead for any (and all) self-respecting metal fans.
Watch and listen, Laid In Stone are metal history in the making. Get it while it’s hardcore.
