“The Riot Room rose from the ashes of the Hurricane. Booking some of the hottest names in local music, the scaled-down, cleaned-up spot at 4048 Broadway has quickly re-earned its cred as Westport’s rock-and-roll institution. Dimly lit and loud, the Riot Room can be intimidating — or a godsend for those who are comfortable with the debauchery of the midtown scene. Claiming that it’s “bringing wasted back in style,” the Riot Room has a reverse happy hour at midnight. But early in the evening is when some of the area’s most ubiquitous drinking musicians can be found at the circular bar.”
“I have to say… I am impressed. We planned a low key NYE with our friends and we decided to go to the RR to see the Republic Tigers. The show sold out early and only half of our group had tickets. We tried to get more, but they told us to just try the day of the show. We all showed up when the doors opened and had no problem getting in. I thought that sold out = wayyyyy to many people inside… but it was not bad at all. We were comfortable, we had a table and the the place was not crazy packed.
The door guy was very nice, the bartenders were efficient, nice, and friendly, the staff was on the ball and kept our tables clean.
The bands that played were fun and different. The crowd was nice and diverse. The sound was great. Oh and we drank all night and left with a $30 drink bill… AWESOME!
I cant say enough… I am impressed- What a great way to ring in the new year!”
“The Riot Room is one of my favorite bars- I find myself there a lot when going out! The owners are super nice, the live entertainment line-up is usually very good and the vibe is good. If you love live music, you should definitely visit this place.”
